Title: Assalmalikum, I live in joint family in a house owned by my father and bear the full houehold expenses since my father does not work. My query is Can i show this amount as a rent in my office to get the tax benefit. Altough i made it clear to my office that we have our own house and this idea is suggested by them only. Jazakallah

If you make intention of house rent for the expenses incurred on household, it is allowable for you to manage it in the manner mentioned above.
