We have not seen a Hadith saying that the Prophet (صلى الله علیه وسلم) used to take water just after meal or during meal. But it is understood by this prayer: الحمد لله الذي اطعمنا و سقانا و جعلنا مسلمين that some water should be taken during eating food. If a man feels thirsty, he may drink water just after eating. It is stated in the Hadith that fire was not lit in oven for months in the house of the Prophet (صلى الله علیه وسلم), he used to live only on dates and water, but there is no clarification whether he drank water while eating dates or later.
