Title: I have some questions, plz help me in them.. 1. After eid prayers, doing musafaha and hugging each other is a bidaat.. But my frnds and relatives feel that im insulting them by doing so bcoz they dont have knowledge abt this.. Plz help me how to create awareness and finishing this bidaat in our surroundings.? When we meet someone one day after eid and we havent met for long, can we hug each other..? Although the other person's intention is greeting for eid.. Plz explain in detail.. 2. In our area there are two deobandi aalims.. *One says musafaha and hugging after eid is bidaat, *doing joint dua after faraz namaaz is bidaat, *doing ibadat in masjid during taakhraats is bidaat, *finishing quran in taraweeh on the 26th day of ramzan as bidaat.. While the other aalim says and does the complete opposite.. Plz tell me which one is right.? If the first one is right, is he right in all the matters.. Plz explain in detail.. Its very confusing for a common man when aalims from the same Khankha tell two opposite things in the same matter.. Cant you not regulate what the aalims from your university are preaching and following.? If i can do something to create awareness abt this plz direct me to do so.. I wud be very grateful for your reply and hope it'll solve all my above problems.. Jazakallahu khaer..

    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

    (Fatwa: 2449/H=904/th=1431)

    (1) According to the Shariah, musafaha (handshake) and mu’anaqah (embrace) is recommended at the time of meeting someone after a gap or long time, not after Eid salah. That is why musafaha and mu’anaqah after Eid or any other salah is not proved from the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and his Companions (رضوان الله تعالى عليهم اجمعين). Also we do not find any proof from Aimma Mujtahidin, Salaf Salihin, followers of sunnah and religious elders (رحمهم الله تعالى). Also, it is mentioned in Fatawa Shami in many places that the inventor of this musafaha (i.e. after Eid salah etc) are Rawafiz, so Muslims should avoid it.
    (2) Whatever they say and do, get it written by them and attach their original writing along with this question, then in-sha-Allah you shall be answered in detail.
