Title: Zakah for the basic need of a child

Question: How to give some one zakah for basic school & college education to a Muslim? What is the right way to proceed or process? The intention is to make the person self reliant or self sustainable.

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 316/275/L=3/1439)

If the child is poor and adult or minor but sane and his father is poor and eligible to receive zakah then it is allowable to give him zakah money. The method of giving zakah amount is that either the zakah amount is given to the child into his complete possession or some material related to school is bought with zakah money and given to the child. Thus zakah shall be paid.
