    Title: Conditional Talaq

Question: I married last two years ago. Yesterday night, I and my wife make quarrel. As my temper, I said her "If you go to your office tomorrow, I give you one talaq. Astaghfirullah! On morning, we make peace. So I revoke my word for this conditional talaq before she goes to office. And I said to her that I take my word and this conditional talaq. Then I let her go to office and she go to office. Now my question "Is my talaq valid or revoke?" Please advise.

    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 714/558/H=1434) Giving talaq with condition is not revoked by taking back the words of conditions (by recalling conditional talaq). Talaq will take place if the condition of talaq was met in any case. Thus on visiting your wife the office one talaq rajai took place. If you have never divorced your wife except of this conditional talaq rather you have given only this conditional talaq then one talaq took place on your wife. You have the right to take her back before iddah is over. When you take her back then the effect of talaq shall come to an end i.e. the wife shall remain in your nikah as before. But in future you will have only right of two talaqs. If you give two talaqs anytime in future then all these shall become three and your wife would become haram. If you have not taken your wife back before iddah was over then after iddah the right of taking her back will come to an end. However, in case of one or two talaq you can do new nikah with the permission of your wife. You can do ruju in iddah and after iddah you can do new nikah, in both the cases only you would have the right of two talaqs in future. If you have given any other talaq except this conditional talaq before or after this talaq then write the detail and submit the query again.
