Question: My elder brother asked my mother about his wife, "I divorced her; I have no relation with her. He again said over cell phone to my mother, "Swear on Allah I divorced her. Again he asked my cousin over phone, "I divorced her. It is noted that he was drunken on that time. Would you please let me know divorced took place or not?

(Fatwa: 422/422/M=1433) When your elder brother confirms that he has given talaq to his wife then the talaq took place. The talaq will take place as per the number and type of talaqs which he gave.
