Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 1119/646/D=1432) It is makrooh to urinate while standing. However, if one has any excuse or there is no clean place available to sit i.e. one fears to get touched with impurity then it is allowable to stand. But one should not develop this habit unnecessarily. It is mentioned in hadith that the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said to Hadhrat Umar (رضى الله عنه): يا عمر لا تبل قائماً . O Umar, do not urinate while standing. (Mishkah, p. 43)
