(Fatwa: 1580/1246/B=1431)

Masah on khuffain (wiping on leather socks for getting taharah) finds mention in Hadith. Socks made of cloth are not termed as khuffain, rather the leather socks are known by this name. Thus, one should do masah on leather socks only. It is not lawful to do masah on cotton socks.
