Title: Ruling about smoking after the time of sehri was finished

Question: Today I woke up little late to do sehri for Ramadan roza after smoking I have heard the dua after Fajr going on I still continued my fasting it was late for 15 minutes my niyat was to do sehr still my roza valid or invalid.

Fast breaks by smoking cigarette or water pipe (huqqa). (Fatwa Darul Uloom Deoband 6: 415, 416, Question 112, pub. Maktaba Darul Uloom Deoband). Hence if you smoked after true dawn thinking that still the time of sehri remains then your fast was invalid.

وبه علم حكم شرب الدخان، ونظمه الشرنبلالي في شرحه على الوهبانية قوله: ويمنع من بيع الدخان وشربه وشاربه فى الصوم لا شك يفطر الخ (الدر المختار مع رد المحتار ، كتاب الصوم ، 3: 366، ط، مكتبه زكريا ديوبند)، أو تسحر .....بظن اليوم أي: الوقت الذي أكل فيه ليلاً والحاصل أن الفجر طالع،......قضى فقط، (المصدر السابق ص 380-382).
