Title: Fasting on Friday other than ramadan

Question: Someone says fasting on Friday is makrooh as Friday is considered as an Eid day in Islam. Is this correct?

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 1435/1435/M=1433) Hadith stops only from keeping fast on Friday. If someone wants to keep fast on Friday then he should add one day before or after it. It is not a valid reason that it is makrooh to keep fast on Friday due to resemblance of Eid day.
