This time when I did nafl aitkaf for last two days my moatkif coleagues told me that taking bath during Aitkaf is not allowed. Even you can't go for place of ablution (wudhu) for doing miswak or washing hand. You can do miswak while making ablution only. They have given me a reference of a book "Massail Aitkaf by Moulana Rafat Qasmi (Mudarris Darul Uloom, Deoband, India). My moatkif coleague who were doing sunnah aitkaf did not take bath even on Juma ul vida. They told me that taking bath breaks the aitkaf.
