Question: I am a seafarer and we sail for 6-9 months on a stretch, during these sailings we live and work on ships which travel overseas. I wanted to know that during these sailing I should offer qasr salah or not?

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 138/L=100/TL=1433) At the time of setting on journey in sea if you intend to travel for the distance of qasr that you have to cover so and so distance in the sea then you shall do qasr in your salah. However at the time of journey if you do not have any intention or you have to stay within journey distance then you shall offer full salah during journey.
