(Fatwa: 724/601/B=1432) It is mentioned in a hadith: انما جعل الإمام ليوتم به فإذا كبر فكبروا واذا قرأ فأنصتوا . “The Imam is to be followed, so when he says 'Allahu Akbar', say 'Allahu Akbar', and when he recites the holy Quran observe the silence.” Another hadith says: قراءة الإمام قراءة له . “The recitation of Imam is enough for muqtadi.” According to Hanafi Fiqh, in view of these hadith muqtadi will not recite Quran behind imam, whether it is Zuhr and Asr or Maghrib and Isha salah. Muqtadi shall remain silent behind his Imam.
