    Title: In my locality there is a masjid,this masjid is built by a family,the plot on which the masjid is built was bought to built a house ,and nearby there was no masjid so they constructed the masjid on that plot.but till today the ownership of that plot & masjid is on the person who had bought the plot,rest all the duties are carried by the trust,and later the development of the masjid is done by donations given by people..all public is allowed to pray there ,i want to know if it is permissible to keep the ownership to that person & if namaz is valid in this type of masjid?

    The salah is valid. However, to know whether it is a Shariah mosque or not, you should get the written statement of the person about whom you wrote that he owns the land. What does he say in this regard?
