Title: Ruling on Qasr and Qaza salah

Question: I and my parents were residing in Chennai city since I born almost 25 years, and my parents belong to Vaniyambadi a town nearly 200 kms from Chennai. Now my parents have moved the residence from Chennai to Vaniyambadi but I am in a job at Chennai so I stay 5 days in Chennai and two days in Vaniyambadi. In this situation, if I miss my imam jamat for fardh prayers either in Vaniyambadi or Chennai should I pray qasr namaz or as usual fardh?

    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

If you have not made Chennai your native place and you go there only for your job then in case you stay there less than fifteen days you shall be musafir. Thus it shall be wajib on you to offer qasr salah in case you miss jama’at. If Vaniambadi is your native place and your parents stay there then it shall be deemed your native place. Thus as soon as you reach Vaniambadi you shall become muqim and it shall be wajib on you to offer full salah.
