(Fatwa: 867/729=D/1430)

The muqtadi should not recite Surah Fatihah while performing salah behind an imam, it is makrooh tahreemi:

في القرآن: وإذا قرئ القرآن فاستمعوا لہ وأنصتوا

وفي الحدیث: من کان لہ إمام فقرأۃ الامام لہ قرأۃ (موطا امام محمد، طحاوي، مسند ابي شیبہ)

وفي حدیث آخر: إنما جعل الإمام لیؤتم بہ، فإذا کبر فکبروا ۔۔۔ وإذا قرء فأنصتوا (مسند أحمد، مسلم)
