Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 161/118/D=02/1435) The conditions of aqiqah are just like Qurbani, e.g. goat of one year and buffalo of two years. The animal should be healthy, not blind, one-eyed and lame that may not walk on foot to the slaughtering place, etc. In short, an animal whose qurbani is lawful its aqiqah is also lawful.

Q. Dear sirs I am now a days staying in Vietnam for long time. We have problems in getting halal meet here we can get from some suppliers but can not be sure on it so I wanted to learn to slaughter chicken our selves at home so we can get meat for sure that it is halal. Q. what is the opinion of the ulema of deoband in regards to the method used by many slaughterhouses where the animal are first rendered unconscious through various means of shock, like captive bolt, water bath stun etc and then slaughetered. Some Ulema who approve this method say that the method is islamic and okay. there are various studies that shows that animals die when they are given shock and in some cases causes other types of problems to the animal. is this type of slaughetring, where a delibrate shock given prior to slaughter an islamic method or un islamic? what is the ruling on consuming such meats where there remains a doubt that the animal may or may have not died because of this shock, mainly because the ulema who approve this do not individually check each and every animal but instead visit such slaughterhouses, once or twice in a year 1606 views
