(Fatwa: 611/371/D=1432) It is a major sin to swear false on a past matter and its kaffarah is tauba and istighfar. He should ask Allah's forgiveness. In this case, the kaffarah of fast or feeding shall not be applicable. فالغموس هوالحلف على امر ماض يتعمدالكذب فيه فهذه اليمين ياثم فيما صاحبها ولا كفارة فيها الا التوبة والاستغفار . (شرح البداية)
