    Title: My wife sewars upon my son that she will not do a certain work, now this particular work is something that we can not avoid it and have to do pls advise will there be an kuffara or what should she do to continue to do this work?

    Swearing by son does not take place. There is no kaffarah (expiation) if someone swears like this and later violates it. If your wife having sworn upon your son said like this "I swear by my child I will not do this work" in this case she can do that work, there is no kaffarah for it. However you should tell her that swearing by anyone except Allah is not lawful. It is severe sin to swear by anyone other than Allah. The Hadith forbids it, so it should be avoided. She should do tauba and istighfar for the oath she has sworn.
