You should shun form the customs being performed in the wedding, keep away from extravagance and fame. When you find a suitable match, you should discuss your guardians (father, uncle etc) and the guardian of girl about finalizing the relation and fixing the date and time of nikah, whether face to face meeting, thorough letters or over the phone. After this, two or three men should go with you for solemnizing the Nikah and comeback with the bridegroom. It is better if it is on Friday and the nikah is conducted in mosque after Jumah prayer. You should invite some poor and destitute as well as relatives over feast in the same day or the next day after you both meet in privacy and serve nice food in the name of Walima as per your capacity. If you have books like Behishit Zewar, Islami Shadi, Islahur Rusum, you should study these books.
