Title: Assalam Alaikum Mufti Sahab, I was in love in love with a girl from last 2 years..we met 7 times,in which we got engaged ourself in illegal activities.we both perform namaz 5 times and try to follow sunnah to the best.whenever we did an illegal act,we use to realize it that it is wrong,so we use to perform 2 rakat salat-ut-tauba.But as the time passed,we lost control on ourself so last month we decided to get married,so that talking on fone,meeting and doing other things will become halaal for us..we did'nt informed at our home and we did nikaah with her n myself(there was no qazi,wali and 2 proof).I read all the nikah text from quran and hadith and asked her 3 times whether u accept me as ur husband..she said yes..and i said by myself for mine acceptance.my motto behind nikaah was to have an halaal relationship..Allah knows it better..Now i want to know whether we are husband-wife or not..we both consider ourself as couple.I have read in 1 of your fatwa that if a girl says a boy,i am ur wife and she uses his sirname...then also she becomes wife..plzz clear my doubt..I am always in tention...waiting for ur reply..Duao ki dharkhaast

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 854/664=L/1430)

In order to establish nikah, it is necessary that two witnesses are present in the meeting of Nikah. Thus, the Nikah performed by you did not take place. Neither it is lawful for you to consider her as your wife nor behave with her as wife.
