(1) Sabreen is better than Samreen, however Sabreen is the masculine form, hence you should change your name from Sabreen to Sabra, it means a woman having patience.
(2) Yes, names have effects on human beings. The holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) asked to choose good names and change bad names.
