Those who say Â“Ya MuhammadÂ” or Â“Ya AliÂ” with a belief that Hazrat Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and Hazrat Ali are equal to Allah and fulfil oneÂ’s needs, and they say these things believing that they will be helped and their needs will be fulfilled, then it is undoubtedly shirk (ascribing partner to Allah).
