    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

    (Fatwa: 1271/1194=D/1429)

Allah Almighty has fixed the shares of women as He has fixed the shares of women; the details have been mentioned in the Holy Quran. After death of parents, the girls also have their shares in the inheritance like the boys. It is opposed to the ruling of the Holy Quran and absolutely a cruelty if girls are deprived of their shares. The Hadith says: whoever encroaches upon a span land of any one, he will be resurrected in he Day of Judgment with seven plates of the earth hanging around his neck.

In the abovementioned question, if your maternal grandfather also had died, then all the properties and other things left by the maternal grandparents shall be distributed into 17 shares; two shares for each of the seven boys and one share for each of the three girls.

Note: The above distribution shall be made after all due rights preceding the inheritance like debt, will etc.
