Question: My father died 2 years back due to heart attack. I am elder son of the family. And I am having 2 sisters they are married. My mother has 150 gm gold. How we can divide this gold? Kindly do needful.

(Fatwa: 1361/1090/B=1433) Who is the owner of 150 gm gold? If it is mother then she alone is the owner. It shall be divided after her death. But if your deceased father was its owner then the gold, and the house, land, other belongings of your father i.e. all his property shall be evaluated and divided into 32 shares as per the Shariah; the eighth part of which i.e. 4 shares shall go to your mother, and 14 shares to the son and 7-7 shares to each daughter. The detail of division is as follows: Details: Wife: 1x04 = 04 Sons: 1x14 = 14 Daughters: 2x07 = 14 Total: 32 shares
