One can hang taweez around his neck or right arm provided it contains words from the Quran and Hadith, it is free from words of shirk and one has a belief that the effect is only from Allah not from the taweez. Taweez can be soaked in wax, sewn in cloth and tied with thread around neck or right arm. It is allowable for children and unlettered people to tie taweez, but the learned ones should recite the duas and verses.
