    Title: I work in a Govt. Arms and Ammunition manufacturing unit under Ministry of Defence. A system called 'Outgoing Circular' is effective in our organisation in which a person or a group of people apply for outgoing facility for events like Diwali, Ganesh jayanti, Ambedkar jayanti, Ramdhan any many more events where they go out of the factory getting one time punching exemption and not to return for the day under the pretext of doing welfare work . In turn they get their Overtime booked for the whole day and get the pay accodingly. This type of facility is also availed by our muslim brethren in the holy month of Ramadhan. I want to ask whether taking this facility is jayaz as the overtime pay is granted if the person works in the factory beyond 8 hours of normal working. Please reply my query. May Allah give us all hidayat.

    If this scheme is provided by your factory and you execute the job for which you go with full readiness and trust and record the time correctly, and you are paid extra amount for that extra job, then you are allowed to take that extra salary in return of the extra work provided the welfare job for which you are going is right according to shariah.
