Title: I m 32 year old n my wife is 24 year old mashaallah we have a 14 month old baby boy. My problem is that we use to take contraceptive pills during intercorse to avoide pregnancy but now she is 8 week pregnent & not in mentally comfortable stage that our baby is small just 14 month that is why we are thinking for abortion b'coz my wife is quite weak . Is abortion is right?

(Fatwa: 1289/1034/B=1431)

It is lawful to abort at the time of severe compulsion before the period when foetus gets life which is four months. It is haram and unlawful go through abortion after four months.
قالوا : يباح لها أن تعالج في استنزال الدم ما دام الحمل مضغة أو علقة ولم يخلق له عضو ، و قدروا تلك المدة بمائة و عشرين يوماً و جاز لأنه ليس بآدمي ، و فيه صيانة الآدمى (شامى : 9/615 كتاب الخطر والاباحة)
