    Title: I am a practicing lawyer since the last 6 years. Alhamdulilah, I took bayat in the hands of Sk. Alauddin (DB)here in Guwahati, who is a Khalifa of Hazrat Hussain Ahamad madani (RAH). Alahmdulilah, last Ramazan I was ordained Khilafati by my Sheikh in Khankah of Sk.Ahmad ali (RAH) in Guwahati, Assam, India. Now, after such a great honour and responsibility, should i carry on with my practice as lawyer? Secondly, is it permissible for muslims to practice as an advocate,specially in India where the law is not Shariah?

    In itself practicing as lawyer is lawful and the income earned through it is halal. However practicing for an unlawful case or any thing that is against Islam is not permissible. You can continue the practice keeping both these things in view.
