Question: Is keeping gold and gold ornaments at home against the Sunnah? What is the Sunnah way of treating with the gold jewelleries? Will it be following Sunnah if I am not buying and keeping gold ornaments at home even though I have much money for buying it for my mother and wife?

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 32/32/M=1433) It is halal to keep gold and gold jewellery in house. It shall not be termed against Sunnah. However it is against Shariah not to pay its zakah or wear it to show it to non-mahram.
