    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 355/143/L=1433) (1) It is unlawful to chew the tobacco or zarda (with pan or in any other way) which is intoxicating or it is injurious to health. And it is right to chew the tobacco or zarda which is not intoxicating and which does not have bad smell and are not injurious to health. But it is makrooh tanzihi to chew such tobacco or zarda that have bad smell but are not intoxicating or injurious to health. If it is consumed it shall be makrooh to enter in the mosque without washing the mouth. (2) Yes, supari (betel net) may be used with pan and zarda. (3) If smoking is injurious to health then its use is not lawful. If it is not injurious to health then too smoking without any need just for entertainment is makrooh.
