Title: Isal-e-sawab

Question: My father passed away on 16 September 2012, I had decided to give Quran to relatives for his isal-e-sawab. Please let me know is it better to give the holy Quran for isal-e-sawab or shall I do anything else for my father benefit. Also want to know about 40 days fatiha.

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 1748/1110/L=1433) (1) The decision taken by you for isal-e-sawab of your father is correct and right. Until your relatives keep on reciting the holy Quran your father shall be getting its reward. (2) There is no proof of doing fatiha for forty days.
