Title: We have been married for 2 years and 9 months now ma-sha-Allah and I have been waiting for my husband to say that we are now ready to have kids

Question: We have been married for 2 years and 9 months now ma-sha-Allah and I have been waiting for my husband to say that we are now ready to have kids. So far we have been using temporary contraceptives on my husband's choice. He had promised we would plan kids when we are settled (that happened this Eid) and now he is saying we need another 9 months or so before we can think of kids as we are not financially secure. I am not happy with contraceptives use. He also does not listen to me when I ask him not to watch immodest movies and gets irritated. When I ask him to go in Jamah for 3 days or so, he says he does not get along with his fellowmen. He is otherwise a very nice and decent person and never misses his salah. Previously, he would go in Jamah voluntarily. Please advise!

    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 215/L=134/TL=1433) Your husband is not right in using the contraceptive medicines for not having a child. Almighty Allah has taken the responsibility of livelihood. And Almighty Allah says in the holy Quran: Do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide sustenance to them and to you, too. Killing them is a great sin indeed. Hence it is not right to adopt such methods that prevent childbirth. As far as the matter of watching immodest movies is concerned, really it is very bad. You should help your husband in getting rid of this bad habit with wisdom. And the best way is that you keep on sending your husband in jamah time and again.
