Title: Missing Sunnat Salah

Question: Someone tells me that there is no gunah if we avoid sunnat salah like 4 rakat of salah before Zuhr. Is it true? Please attach some reference from hadith so that I can show him.

Sunnah muwakkidah which the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has regularly offered such as four rakah before Zuhr salah, a person who misses them without any excuse and makes it a habit is sinner and fasiq. Yes, if one cannot offer it sometime due to some excuse then there is no sin.

كانت السنة المؤكدة قريبة من الواجب في لحوق الإثم كما في البحر، ويستوجب تاركها التضليل واللوم كما في التحرير: أي على سبيل الإصرار بلا عذر كما في شرحه ... عن عائشة – رضي الله عنها – "كان النبي – صلى الله عليه وسلم – يصلي قبل الظهر أربعا .... رواه مسلم وأبوداؤد وابن حنبل . (رد المحتار)
