    Title: Salaat in MASJID QUBA

Question: While staying in Madina Munawwarah last year, I used to go to Masjid-e-Quba to offer nafl namaz. As per Hadith meaning - sawab of 2 rakah nafl namaz is 1 Umrah? I used to offer 2 rakah nafl namaz and make dua as "Oh Allah grant sawab of this 2 rakah namaz to marhum (name of marhum), like this I use to offer namaz and do isal-e-sawab to family, Sahabas, Ummatul Mu'mineen, locality marhums ( marhum of area where I stay). Please guide whether this amal was correct? Can we do this way when in Madina (only for) Masjid-e-Quba? If Allah swt gives opportunity to stay in Madina (in future for Hajj, Umrah.)

    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

    (Fatwa: 477/400/N=06/1440)

It is narrated by Usaid bin Zuhair Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “One prayer in the Quba Mosque is like Umrah.” It is narrated by Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever goes out to his Masjid - the Masjid of Quba and prays therein, that will be equivalent to freeing a slave.” (Shua’b al-Iman) According to Shariah, the isal-e-sawab of each worship and good deed is correct; hence your practices during your stay in Madina Munawwarah were correct in the eyes of Shariah. There is no need to have any doubt in this regard.

    (2) Doing isal-e-sawab by any worship and good deeds is valid. Also there is no specification of any mosque or area. However, any particular day or custom should not be fixed for isal-e-sawab, nor it should be done collectively.
