Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !
(Fatwa: 171/164/N=1433) The rights of children over their parents are fourteen: seven in their lifetime and seven after their death. The seven rights related to their life are as follows: (1) Respect. (2) Love. (3) Obedience. (4) Service. (5) Care for their comfort. (6) To fulfil their requirements. (7) To visit and meet them time and again. While the rights related after their death are as follows: (1) To make dua for their maghfirah. (2) Isal-e-sawab. (3) To respect their friends, dear ones and relatives. (4) To support their friends, dear ones and relatives. (5) To pay off their debt and amanah. (6) The execution of lawful inheritance. (7) To visit their grave time and again (An excerpt by Hadhrat Maulana Shah Abrarul Haque RA) Also there are seven rights of parent over their children, I do not know. Hadhrat Thanvi (رحمة الله عليه) in (Huququl Islam p. 6-7) and some other Ulama have only mentioned four rights. They are as follows: (1) To marry them with pious and virtuous woman. (2) To bring up them in childhood with love. (3) To teach them religious education and etiquettes. (4) To marry them in some appropriate place when they reach the age of nikah These four rights are proven from hadith.
