Title: Can One Marry Her Own Step-Sister?

Question: I have a cousin who wants to marry her new father's daughter, and she is his step-sister by law. Both are of same age which is 18. They both like each other and they have confessed in front of the family. There is no one here to guide the parents to what to do in such a situation, as we feel ashamed to ask for help from our elders in area. Please guide our family the right way.

A man can marry to his step-father’s daughter, there is no hindrance.

قال فى الهداية : ويجوز أن يتزوج الرجل بأخت أخيه من الرضاع ؛ لأنه يجوز أن يتزوج بأخت أخيه من النسب وذلك مثل الأخ من الأب إذا كانت له أخت من أمه جاز لأخيه من أبيه أن يتزوجها . (هداية: 1/351 كتاب الرضاع)
