    Title: We have given the upper portion of our house on rent.the people on rent are patwari and most of there income is haram,my father is a shopkeeper and alhamdulillah we are eating halal food.

    Question: Q 1:we have given the upper portion of our house on rent.the people on rent are patwari and most of there income is haram,my father is a shopkeeper and alhamdulillah we are eating halal food..my question is if they send us something to eat should we eat it?or we should leave it as it is bought from haram money? Q 2:my uncle is a photomaker he also has a shop and as a photoshop his income is haram,while my cousin is doing job and making halal money,,should i go to their house?should i eat what they offer me?

    (Fatwa: 1071/603/D=1432) (1) If most of the income of your tenant is haram, you should avoid eating and drinking at his home. فان كان الغالب هو الحرام ينبغي أن لا يقبل الهدية ولا يأكل الطعام (هنديه: 5/342ظ كراهية ، ضيافات وهدايا). However, the rent that he would pay shall be halal for you. (2) If your uncle and his son live together and most of their combined income is halal, then you can eat with them, otherwise it is better to avoid eating and drinking there: أهدى إلى رجل شيئاً أو أضافه ، ان كان غالب ماله من الحلال فلا بأس (ايضاً).
