Question: I want to ask about zakah, I have invested 2000000 in a company for business, is there zakah on this amount. And how much I have to pay zakah from this amount? Please, reply in the light of the holy Quran and Hadith.

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 831/693/B=06/1435) Yes, it is necessary to pay fortieth part of the amount which is invested in the business as zakah. You will have to pay 50000/- as zakah of 20 lakh.

Q. My wife has 240 grams of gold jewellery which she got it as gift from her mother at the time of marriage. We got married in Oct 2009. All of the jewellery is now being used by my wife on daily basis. Is zakat applicable for the jewellery she is using.
