Title: Is zakah to be given separately for wife and husband's wealth?

Question: (1) Will the zakah of husband and wife’s wealth be given separately? (2) When the zakah was calculated separately (for wife and husband's wealth); the amount did not reach to the eligible limit. But when combined, it reached the eligible limit. What should we do?

Both the husband and wife shall pay their zakah on their respective wealth provided both are sahib-e-nisab separately. It shall not be taken into consideration if the wealth of both is combined together and the combined wealth reaches up to the nisab. If the wealth of none of them reaches up to nisab separately then no zakah shall be wajib on any of them.
