    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 962/795/B=1433) Maududi Sahib was not a formal Alim and Fazil. He was an English and Urdu scholar. He was not the scholar of the Quran and Hadith rather he was not aware of Arabic i.e. the language of the holy Quran and Hadith. That is why he committed so many mistakes. For example, as per him it is correct to eat Sehri in Ramadan while the time of Sehri finishes and azan of Fajr is going on. According to him, the money of zakah may be given to a kafir and he presented weak Hadith as a proof. Hence a person who is not an Alim or Fazil he should not study the Tafseer of Maududi sahib. And those who are solid Alim they may study it at the time of need as there is no fear that they will get misled. You should study the translation of the holy Quran by Shaikhul Hind. It has the Tafseer Usmani that is very good or study Ma'ariful Quran that is very good and authentic Tafseer.
