If anyone wears the socks, on which masah is permissible like leather socks, then after performing wuzu he can do masah on them for 24 hours while being muqeem, whereas 72 (three days and nights) hours while being musafir. If the socks are made of nylon or thin clothes then it will not be allowed to do masah on them instead of washing.
