Title: black dye for beard.

Question: If imam use black dye for his beard then can we offer salah behind him? Is it true that imam can use red or yellow dye for beard instead of black? Is there any hadith?

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 65/65/M=01/1436) Dying hair or beard black is forbidden as Hadith forbids it. However, other colours red or yellow are allowed. The holy prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) advised Hadhrat Abu Bakar’s father to dye red henna and asked not to apply black dye. (Mishkat p. 380) It is necessary for imam who dyes his beard black to stop it; otherwise his imamah shall be makrooh.

Q. I am follower of Hanafi madhab, I have 2 masjid to pray the Salaah during Zohar, Asar & Magrib Salaah in my office, kindly advise in which masjid I need to pray according to Hanafi.
