Title: I am an employee of autonomous body and very busy with my job. I am living in developing new residential area since last 10 years. As per requirement the construction of a new masjid became necessary in our locality. For which a committe was formed and I become an office bearer of the masjid committee. I involve myself only for the cause of that all the constuction work of the masjid should be done as per the shari'a i.e. avoiding haram funds and materials. As I am very busy with my job and I offer daily five salat anywhere or in the house if the jama'at times over. Since I am not punctual to attend that local masjid to offer all five salat, hence some musalliyan are blaming me for the "khokli seerat" and say that "ta'ajjub hai aap ghar per namaz pade aur masjid doosron ke liye banaye". On continuous blaming by the musalliyan, now I want to leave membership from the masjid committee. Whereas 40% work of the constuction is remain to complete. And no other member look after the work carefully and maintain the shara'i oosool. May I leave this as majority of muslliyan dislike me? Please guide me what should I do?

If you find a suitable alternative who can manage mosque-related affairs and you are satisfied with him, then you can resign. Rather, you are suggested not to solve the matter by a fatwa but deliberate whether the accusations labeled on you are right, whether you are committing laziness in salah or not, you will be reckoned before Allah on the Day of Judgment, there we can find no lame excuse; therefore you should pay special attention towards self reform. Shortly, keep your affairs with Allah clear and do not resign only at the complaints of the people.
