Title: Marriage without informing wali

Question: I am a B. Tech student and I want to marry a girl. I have informed about her to all my family members and they are convinced. But the problem is that they are not making my nikah with her now but they said that they will perform nikah with her after 3 or 4 years because two of my elder brothers are left for marriage. But I have a doubt that I am committing zina (visual, by touching) and have a chance that zina (sexual) will take place. So I am thinking to make nikah with her without our families getting informed. Although my family knows everything about us and her family also except her mother and father. So please tell me what should I do? Can we perform our nikah without the wali getting informed? If yes, please tell me the procedure.

If the mature boy and girl of the matching category (kufu) solemnize their nikah in the presence of two witnesses then their nikah shall be valid according to Shariah. However, it is not desired to do nikah secretly, sometimes it creates other problems. Also the Hadith asks to do nikah openly. Thus it is better that the nikah is solemnized with the consent of both the family openly and until the nikah is not performed till then you should avoid meeting and talking etc.
