Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !
(Fatwa: 521/507=D)
(1) The word ?Mola? has various meanings: lord, owner, friend, neighbour, lover, son-in-law etc. The Prophet (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) has used the word ?Mola? for Hazrat Ali (Raziallahu Anhu) which means friend: من کنت مولاہ فعلی مولاہ. If the Shia use the word ?Mola? for Hazrat Ali considering him as lord or god then this is polytheism. Such Shias are out of folk of Islam. For details, please see: Shieat awr Imam Khumaini
(2) The Quran says: ایاک نعبد و ایاک نستعین (Thee do we worship and Thy aid we seek) Therefore, saying ya rusool Allah madad or ya Ali madad with the intention of seeking help is an act of shirk (polytheism). Many people speak ignorantly such words out of love; they should be informed and directed to right path.
