    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

    (Fatwa: 605/565L/1429)

It is unlawful for a Muslim to take interest from a non-Muslim too. The ruling written by you is about bank interest i.e. if any Muslim has deposited money in a bank or a post office for the purpose of safety, and the bank or the post office gives interest as per its rules, then it is not allowed to give up that interest money there but it is essential to withdraw it from the bank or post office because if the money is not withdrawn then it can be spent in anti-Islamic or anti-Muslim directions. Therefore, one should withdraw that amount and spend it on the poor and needy without any intention of reward.
