    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

    (Fatwa: 34/34=M)

It is unlawful to celebrate birthday, it is a tradition of the West and it has no importance in Islam. It is wrong to attend such nonsense celebrations whether the invitatory is a Muslim or a non-Muslim.
