Question # : 298

India

I have an important question which I hope you will answer. Please excuse us for this question, but we need to explain it to you so that we may avoid something haraam. It has become very common among girls who claim Islamic sisterhood to kiss one another in an exaggerated fashion, such as kissing on the mouth or elsewhere, and they claim that this is part of complete love. When we explain to them that it is haraam, they say that there is no sharai evidence to show that it is haraam, and that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to bite the tongue of Zayd ibn Haarithah, and that they are prepared to stop doing this if they are shown any sharai evidence that it is haraam.

(Fatwa 645=605/B)

Islam disallows every thing that arouses sensual feelings. Thus looking at non-maharam is disallowed since it causes sexual urge. Likewise, it is forbidden for men to be alone with non-mahram women since it also falls in the same category. So, kissing of girls to each other will be regarded as haraam as it also awakens sexual desire and this is actually a sign of approaching Qiyamah (Doomsday); as in Hadith it is mentioned that women will indulge in homosexuality.

The justification of the kissing as part of complete love is nothing but a satanic deception and thus is completely avoidable. As far as the Hadith of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallah) biting the tongue of Zaid bin Haritha is concerned we are sorry that we are not aware of it. Please, provide us the reference of the same.
