Title: I've attended some Islamic Lectures and many Aleem mentioned the numbers of Prophets as 1,24000 or 2,24000. I would like to know whether these numbers are mentioned in any parts of Qur'an or Hadiths. If so, then please quote the reference. Yes, Allama Qurtubi narrated from Hazrat Abu Zarr Al-Ghifari (رضی اللہ عنہ) that Allah Ta?la sent down 124000 prophets, out of which 313 were messengers granted with Shariah.
